“It’s all about timing,” says the unflappable Vivian Lau-Guerriero, Admerasia’s VP/production director who, for nearly two decades, has seen -- and said -- it all.
She adds, “One day we can build a giant, towering mooncake in Flushing, New York, and the next day have a photo shoot of synchronized swimmers in China doing water ballet underwater.”
Since 1992, the production team of Admerasia has worked with the most demanding of clients – and that includes the agency as client, of course.
“Timing is just as important as having chemistry with a client,” says Vivian. “It's all about meeting deadlines with vendors around the globe.
Production in a multicultural organization is complex. For one, you need to speak the vendor’s language—and know the cultural nuances of the vendor. Working with someone coming from the same culture can make things go a lot easier and faster. That translates to time efficiency.
This is especially true when Admerasia has to work on different translations for various iterated work and materials. It turns out that for Admerasia, volume is not an issue, as its stable of reliable vendors allow for more flexibility.
“Thankfully, we have a niche list of vendors and partners we can count on all the time,” says Vivian who is open to cold calls when the timing is right.
“New vendors or partners can bring a new perspective to our business. And we get a chance to add new vendors to our niche list,” she adds.
